Hunger Games: Part 1 ( Lawrence, 2014)

Trailer conventions:

• The best bits are highlighted throughout, such as when Katniss shoots down aircraft's from the Capitol using only a bow and arrow.
• The film is established as a sci-film through the use of galactic costume and weaponry.
• The stars in the film are showcased throughout, Jennifer Lawrence portrays the main protagonist, and both Josh Hutchinson and Liam Hemsworth as her love interests.
• The dialogue used its extremely short, Katniss simply says to Peta "you're a liar"
• The title does not appear until the final seconds of the trailer
• Intense and dramatic music is played throughout and becomes increasingly fast in order to build up tension.
•

The target audience of this film is those aged between the ages of 12-18.

How the distributor targets this audience:

The distributor makes it attractive to young people by highlighting the fact that the film features of the moment actors such as Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutchinson. The film also was widely advertised on the sides of busses and social media, two places which young people are bound to see

My Response:

personally I found this trailer very exciting and thrilling and if I hadn't already seen the film I would go see it, but I would recommend this film to anyone who hasn't seen it because of this trailer
